When you receive a time proposal, you'll be navigated to the event page, where you can view basic event details, review proposed times, and select or suggest times that work for you.

New and improved ✨ While anyone can receive and vote on a time proposal, Base users who receive a proposal can overlay their existing calendar events while viewing proposed times.

In this article:

View details for a proposed event

The event title, duration, and host name are displayed left of the calendar view.

If the host has shared additional event details, click on the More details toggle to show or hide it from view.

Review and select from the proposed times

You can view the proposed times in the left sidebar as a list of time slots, or in the calendar as blocks of time slots.

Using the left sidebar

Set the time zone

The time zone defaults to your local time zone. To see time slots in another time zone, click the time zone label to reveal the menu where you can then search or select.

Select from the proposed times

Time slots are shown chronologically by date. Scroll the list the see all proposed times. Hovering a slot highlights its corresponding calendar block.

To select a time, click its time slot. The card displays the number of votes and the name or email of the voters.

To deselect a time, click the selected time slot again. Your vote is removed from the card display.

Using the calendar view

Navigate the calendar

The calendar defaults to week view. Click Week in the upper right to change the display. Click Today in the upper left to jump to the current day. Use the < and > buttons to travel between days, weeks, or months.

Select from the proposed times

Scroll the calendar to see all proposed times. Hovering a calendar block highlights its corresponding time slot in the left sidebar. To quickly jump to a time, click the time slot in the left sidebar.

To select a time, click the calendar block. A popover displays the number of votes and the name or email of the voters.

To deselect a time, click the calendar block again. Your vote is removed from the popover display.

Overlay calendars as a Base user

When you are logged in to Base and receive a time proposal, you can overlay your connected calendars to see existing calendar events and the proposed times simultaneously.

First, log in to Base.

In the event page, click Log in to overlay calendars. This directs you to Base to log in. Upon completion, this returns to the event page, where your email address is displayed in the upper right, indicating you are logged in.

Note: If you cannot see the Log in text in the event page, but you are logged in to Base:

  1. Go to Base.

  2. Log out of your account, then log back in.

  3. Go to the event page. You should now see your email address in the upper right, indicating you are logged in.

Second, overlay calendars.

Click Overlay calendars to reveal the sidebar, which displays all of your connected accounts with their associated calendars.

To select or deselect one or more calendars, click its corresponding checkbox.

Suggest new times

To suggest a time, click any open slot on the calendar. A calendar block appears with the corresponding time slot in the left sidebar.

To remove a suggested time, click the suggested time slot in the left sidebar or the suggest time block in the calendar again.

You can suggest as many times as you prefer, with some limitations:

  • Suggested times will be added based on the event duration.

  • Suggested times can only be seen by the host. Other voters who also receive the time proposal cannot see your suggested times.

Confirm your selections

Click Confirm selection(s) in the bottom right. In the modal that appears, you can review your selected times, then click Send to host.

Provide attendee details

Provide a name and email for the event attendee. Upon sending your selections to the host, the email used to confirm is automatically added as an event participant.

Add a note for the host (optional)

Click Add Note to reveal a text box for entering text. Add context for your selections, a thank you note, whatever rocks your socks!

Add a carbon copy email (optional)

Click Add CC if you'd like to email a copy of the response to another email address.

Using the event page on a mobile device

On a mobile device, the event page displays the list of times without a calendar view.

To suggest other times, scroll to the end of the list of times, then click Suggest other times. In the modal, use the date and time pickers to add your suggested times.
